Introduction: The concept of wisdom and other equivalents have an important place in Islamic sciences, psychology, and psychiatry, because of their determinant roles in human health. This concept has been explained and compared in these three resources. Method: This is a review of the concept of wisdom (Aghl) and its related concepts in three above mentioned sources. After looking up the wisdom in the Arabic, Persian, and English dictionaries, the concept were extracted from the perspective of Islamic philosophers, Imams, Qur'an, academic textbooks of psychiatry and psychology. Finally, the commonalities and differences of the concept in the mentioned resources were assigned. Results: From a philosophical perspective, wisdom is divided into practical and theoretical subtypes. In the Islamic narratives, wisdom is the diagnosis power, enforces human to goodness, prevents from corruption, is the basis of human's personality, and is a criterion which appraisal of human will be based on it at hereafter. The psychiatry has defined wisdom as having a true insight about the self, one's disease, and having a right judgment in various conditions. In the psychological literatures, the concept of wisdom is the ability to think and practice based on knowledge, experience, and right insight. Discussion: All three resources believe in the gradual evolution for the development of wisdom, and they consider various factors affecting this evolution. But in the Islamic view, the concept of hereafter as an important and essential concept, introduces a different approach to the wisdom and other perspectives of it.
