Abstract

Aims: To evaluate the clinical outcomes of two different doses of BTX-A in patients with IOAB. Method and patients: This study is a prospective randomized clinical trial.Sample size was 55 patients of Noor and Al-zahra hospitals. After determination of trabeculaktion grade, 300 units (for no trabeculation or mild trabeculation) and 500 units (for moderate or severe trabeculation) of abobotulinumtoxinA(AboBTX or Dysport)was intravesical injected .Before intervention, one, three and six months after intervention, lower urinary tract symptoms (urinary frequency, urgency, nocturia and urge incontinence) were recorded by questionnaire during 24 hours. Also self administered OAB-V8 questionnaire was used to identify patients with bothersome OAB symptoms in four phases. Results: If Dysport dosage adjusted with bladder trabeculation ,drug dosage did not affect consequent complications and efficacy. So,if AboBTX intravesical injection is done proportional to bladder trabeculation grade, we can increase the drug dosage up to nearly 60% without concern for possible increase of complication rate. Conclusions: The presence of bladder trabeculation is a valuable clue in women with RIOAB and one can assume that patients with more severe trabeculation would need higher doses of abo BTX for their symptom control
