| Abstract

Non alcoholicsteatohepatitis (NASH) in one of the moste prevalent manifestation and lethal factors in person with morbid obesity. We investigated the relation between pathologic complications of liver and laboratory data in this patients.106 patients with morbid obesity who underwent Laparascopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery(LRYGBP) were selected. Liver function test, Fasting glucose and lipid profile of patients gathered befor bariatric surgery. Liver wedge biopsy had been done during surgery. All samples survey by a hepathopathologist.84.6% of patients had NASH and steatosis at the same time. Level of serum AST and ALT are in connection with steatosis intensity. Level of serum AST and male gender are predictor factors for NASH intensity.Level of liver enzymes could predict microscopic changes of liver but for definite diagnosis we recommend liver biopsy while bariatric surgery.
