The role(s) of intravesical injection of Botulinum toxin A( BTXA ) in treatment of irritative lower urinary tract symptoms( LUTS) for Interstitial cystitis/Bladder pain syndrome( IC/PBS) is controversial, so this study has been designed to help clear the potential therapeutic effects and complications of this method. Method: Among 52 women with characteristics of IC/BPS, twenty two patients, who did not respond to the approved oral treatments of IC/BPS enrolled to the study. Their symptoms evaluated by O`leary/sant( OLS) questionnaire and diary voiding . Each patient went under cystoscopy and immediately after hydro distention ,they received 300 IU of Abo-botulinum toxin A( Abo BTXA) / Dysport by intra vesicle injection. Their symptoms by OLS questionnaire and complications recorded at 1, 3 and 6 months follow-up.Results: OLS were meaningfully reduced in 1, 3 and 6 months (39.5%,36%,18%., respectively).. Complications include urinary retention (13.5%) and bladder rupture (in 4.3%patient) and UTI (18%). Conclusion: intravesical injection of BTXA is an effective way for treatment of IC/BPS in period of six months .Complications are manageable.
